Berggasthof Jochstub'n

Had a coffee here June16 and sat outside, was my favourite place to have a drink all week, although many are brilliant in this region.I think this place in winter must be as good as it gets, the interior is 'olde worldy' classic wood cabin and i can just imagine the log fire roaring whilst enjoying some hot food.Although we didnt eat, the food coming out looked good and the Austrians/Germans seemed to be very happy to be there!The view of the Jochstubnsee lake with the mountains in the background was amazing(see pic).

We stopped in here whilst walking back to Söll. The restaurant is self service from a counter with friendly and helpful staff who tolerated our attempts at German with good humour!! We only had drinks (hot chocolate with rum- highly recommended) so cannot comment on food. Definitely worth a stop.

During a long days walk, we came to Jochstubn. It wasn't a busy day at all (rainy...) but the open fire was lit only for us. The soup was great, the "wurst mit pommes" nothing special. Most importantly: great hospitality from the owners.

We stopped here for a break during a long walk, a pleasant place to stop for a beer with a view. A nice lake here with a yacht on it ... quite unusual up a mountain!

we never leave the skiwelt without a visit to the Jochstubn! the lovely log fire and gluhwein are an added bonus!
