Early November I decided to extend my planned Christmas Ski-Trip by some days and the only free option was this rather small 2 Star hotel in the western part of the Riederalp. It is close to the small cabin ropeway going to the valley and to a chair ski lift giving quick access to the full ski resort. Also, a supermarket and restaurants are in close distance, likewise a playground for kids. In a nutshell, the location is really good. It’s a bit of walk though (20min) to the trainer lift where kids learn skiing (if kids are too small to take the ski lift and ski over). Stayed here for two nights in December. Very good value and staff is super friendly! The food in the restaurant is much better than the surrounding restaurants and also cheaper, we were really impressed! Since it's at the far end of the resort it was also much more peaceful and less crowded than other parts of the resort. The only possible downside I see is that it's a bit of a walk from the beginner skilifts. For me as a beginner it was difficult to walk in the skishoes for that distance. But if you are intermediate/advanced then there is a skilift 1 min away.
James, the host from England, along with his wife from Belgium, have really made this a beautiful restaurant to enjoy. Local specialties have been given their touch and are tasty and beautifully presented. The decor and view of the Alps are both wonderful and the friendly service makes you want to keep coming back. Great WiFi spot and nice to be able to enjoy a superb fish chips with a Guiness when not feeling like one of the cheese-prominent local dishes. Would be nice if AmEx were accepted.
Wir waren eine Woche zu Gast im Berghaus Toni (Unterkunft und Restaurant) und haben fast alle Speisen mal probiert.Mixed Grill, Spare Ribs, Poulet-Salat und Fish n Chips sind genial präsentiert, super gemacht und mal was Anderes als Walliser Traditionell. Risotto, Raclette und Fondue hat es auch und sind auch fein. Einzig nicht wirklich begeistert waren wir von der Rösti. Vielleicht war das ein Ausrutscher.

We had a “family style” dinner sharing appetizers, entrees and desserts and each dish was excellent. The local beef sausage was particularly delicious as the (and I get this right it is a speciality of the region, Wiki it) Cholera, a potato and cheesecake. If you are unsure, ask for a wine recommendation. We have great success. Chapeau to the hosts.
Es sieht so aus, als ob die Crew etwas müde ist. Das Essen war köstlich, ich würde es eine 4 oder 5, aber die Art und Weise, wie wir serviert wurden erinnerte uns daran, dass das Ende März ist das Ende der Riederalp Skisaison und anscheinend auch das Ende von Tonis Saison. nichts falsch, aber die Kellnerin schien nur müde zu sein. irgendwie traurig.
Wir haben jede Mahlzeit an dieser Lage, denn es war das beste. Das Frühstück am Morgen eine Freude. Das Abendessen erstklassig. Geschmack und Präsentation waren perfekt. Vielen Dank. Ich würde empfehlen die Cholera und Fondue auf der Speisekarte. Es war jedoch nichts serviert, das war nicht sehr lecker.
Simple but comfortable rooms, great ski in ski out, excellent friendly service, incredible views and easy location. First gondolas at 8am, breakfast also then, last gondola up to Riederalp West at 21:39 (can buy in SBB app). Local grocery store.

Das Mittagessen war großartig, Menü mit Auswahl, helle Atmosphäre, freundliche Personal Fantastisch Paar, dass das Restaurant. Auf jeden Fall wieder hier Kaffee auch wunderbar
Nice and welcoming service and magnificent views from the restaurant, but the food was disappointing (have a cheeseburger with a frits)
