this review is not for the restaurant, but for the attempt to visit the tiger. as stated on their website, their opening times are as follows: in summer (until 2.11.2014 17 o'clock): Wednesday Friday from 12 o'clock on Sunday and celebrates on 11 o'clock in winter of special jan.: Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 12 to 18 o'clock on business holidays: 3.11 to 4.12.2014 we had seen the tiger above all and chose this day because I was informed by their website that they were open. when we asked if we could go to visit, we were not told in winter, good after their website winter is December and januar and summer is until 02/11/2014. to the unfriendly answer we got when we asked about the tiger, an...
do not expect a great food here. this is average German food not necessarily with fresh ingredients. everything seems to come with the same type of rich, creamy sauce. I felt a bit of Canteen food also remembers when looking at the Dessert buffet. the service was...almost overly friendly or something too talky, but well intended. the best is therefore the situation, they can watch tiger in a large cage right next door. situated on a hill next to the Bismarck Tower, they have a great view over the Rhine Valley and the rheingau on the other side when the sky is clear. there is also a small playground when they come with small children
DAstrid Restaurant Burg Waldeck hat den Vorteil das es perfekt inmitten von Weinbergen liegt. Alleine der Blick ist ein Besuch wert! Leider ist es vom Ambiente her stehen geblieben in den 80ern. Das Essen ist guter Durchschnitt. Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis ist ok. Ich bevorzuge den Biergarten im Sommer. Dazu gehört auch noch das Tiger Gehege das mit sehr viel Liebe angelegt & geführt wird. Eine tolle Erfahrung Tiger einmal so nah sehen zu dürfen. Für jeden etwas dabei.
this is an interesting place to visit. great view from the tower over the Rhine Valley. they have four tiger (real) and a few goats and rabbits, much fun for children. the restaurant is simply ok, nothing special. they have an open fire grill, but we couldn't order anything from the grill, because it was reserved for a group, very strange.
