First vacation has felt a hundred years. Well, it hasn't been here for so long, but now it's too late. At any rate we reached our first holiday destination Berchtesgaden after six hours drive very, very thirsty. At the hotel our room was not ready for reference. This is the first time in the historic centre of Berchtesgaden. After a short tour, the Gasthaus Bier Adam appeared right to strengthen us with the first Bavarian Hell. After all, it was almost twelve o'clock in the afternoon. On the outside, Adam is already inviting on the basis of his optics, and the location also scores. A few sat in front of the inn, a service in the dirndl was asked by me if we could sit down. It wasn't a proble...
Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen war merkwürdig. Die spinatknödel hatten eine merkwürdige Konsistenz und schwammen in irgendeinem undefinierbaren Fett. Die Bedienung hat das dann auch bestätigt dass das auf keinen Fall Butter war und es hat auch geschmeckt wie Frittierfett. Die hühnerbrust war als solche nicht zu erkennen, es war irgendein plattgeklopftes helles Stück Fleisch in Panade. Höchstwahrscheinlich würde es auch in der friteuse gemacht. Das Ambiente und alles war in Ordnung, sehr nett, aber dort zu essen ist nicht so empfehlen. Wir haben uns dann doch nicht mehr getraut noch ein Dessert zu bestellen.
Sehr sympathische Bedienung, schöne Lage mitten in Berchtesgaden, Lokal innen sehr gepflegt und ansprechend. Das Essen leider nicht wirklich lecker, zunächst Käsenockerl nach Berchtesgadener Art in Konsistenz und Geschmack leider unappetitlich, so dass wir uns zur Versöhnung unserer Mägen noch einen Kaiserschmarrn bestellt hatten: Dieser geschmacklich sehr angenehm, aber leider im Fett geschwommen und nicht annähernd der Fluffigkeit eines knusprigen traditionellen Kaiserschmarrns entsprechend, sondern einfach ein dicker Pfannkuchen in Stücke gerissen. Auf jeder Berghütte weitaus gekonnter.
We wanted to eat something typical. So we decided to go inside. Very nice stuff, waitresses speak very good english. Menu is also available in english. I woul prefer goulash soup, but the portion are smaller than i thought per 5,90. So we decided to...have their specialities instead. Goulash with spritzl and farmers nest with varies of meats and sourkrout and home made bread knodell. Both fo around 14,5 eur.it was delicious as expected.

On a visit to Hitlers bunker and popped in to Berchtesgaden for lunch. This place looked very nice and as the weather was sunny we sat outside. Friendly staff and a great choice of menu. The ‘farmers’ dinner was very nice Lots of different...pork meats with sauerkraut and dumplings. Also try the pork shoulder as that looked very good. Dunkel beer and weissebeer were also good. Meal and a drink came to about 18 euros. Well recommended.
Wir wollten im Biergarten nur ein frisches Helles trinken. Wir wurden aber aus dem Gasthaus komplementiert. Die Begründung war, dass dafür zu wenig Plätze vorhanden wären. Es wäre nur in Kombination mit Essen möglich. Meine Frage ist nun: Wo steht das? Der Profit steht im Vordergrund, mehr nicht. Auf Gastfreundschaft wird in dieser Einrichtung kein Wert gelegt.
Nachdem wir schon mal dort gegessen haben war es unsere erste Wahl wieder hinzugehen. Etwas unbeholfen bzw. schon fast unhöflich war das Service. Trotz höflicher Anfrage bezüglich Umbestellung wurde man belehrt und darauf hin gewiesen, dass er Koch genug zu tun hat. Leider was das Essen auch nicht besonders schmackhaft.
Super leckerer Zwiebelrostbraten. Wir waren begeistert. Der Service hätte vielleicht an der ein oder anderen Stelle etwas schneller agieren können aber da wir im Urlaub waren, war es für uns absolut kein Problem und uns viel zu schade sich über so etwas aufzuregen. Ich kann es nur empfehlen.

We had dinner at Bier Adam the first day we arrived and it was very good, typical bavarian food. The staff was really friendly and it had a great location near the city square. A good experience
Lovely service. Lovely food. I had fish with rice and veg and it was one of nicest meals ive had on the trip. Gorgeous house rose too. Outside seating. Very good.
