I usually don't write reviews, especially negative ones, but this restaurant was terrible. The server couldn't remember our order, even though she wrote it down. She brought out raspberry iced tea after I corrected her twice, and it was still wrong. The broccoli soup was salty and rancid, and when we mentioned it to the server, she became defensive. The chicken parm and spaghetti were cold, and the chicken tasted freezer burned. The onion rings and mac and cheese were also cold and did not match their description. Waitress lied about the price of the buffet. Told us it was $12 per person but it ended up being $17 per person. The only reason we got the buffet was because she said it was $12 otherwose we would have ordered off the menu. Maybe they should train their waitresses to know the prices of stuff and the manager should be more understanding when we brought this situation up. Will NOT be returning here. Had empty water cups for more than half the meal and had to track down a different waitress to ask for more water because ours was nowhere to be found. The food and service were good, but it was a bit cold in the restaurant. I always order the soup and salad bar along with a meal, but I've noticed that it's always chilly inside. The staff is friendly and goes out of their way to ensure a pleasant experience. I visited Big Boys a couple of days ago, ordered the soup and salad bar along with the classic Big Boy burger and fries. Everything was decent, but I was disappointed that my fries were overcooked and hard.
We went on a Saturday at lunch time while staying at the Hilton next door. It has been a while since I went somewhere and got good service AND good food. The waitress Taylor was sweet, attentive, and professional. The cook cashed us out and he was super nice as well. It was just an overall good experience and we only spent $4 more than we did the night before at Checker's and actually ate the food. We'll definitely be back next time we are in the area. I didn't catch the black girl's name at the counter Who serviced me but her attitude was awesome. She was so sweet and professional. I ordered the hot fudge sundae to go. I believe the manager came out to make sure I had been serviced, he was nice and pleasant. Very good experience for just a carryout and I look forward to dining in soon. The hot fudge Sunday was amazing! The manager/owner was breathing down the neck of the workers. This was not a nice work environment. I would hate to work here. The owner was upset about the meal that the worker had!! Weird! I hope that Big Boy Corporate comes to this location undercover to see this mess of an owner. I doubt they would like this guy representing their brand like this.
