Big Rock Inn Okotoks has now lost our business after 27 years eating there! The food we ordered was not up to par (chicken was dry and chewy and the rice tasted old) so we took it back and requested new dishes and the manager was a complete jerk! He got right in my husbands face, jabbed him with his finger and called him a “bad name” white guy degrading his restaurant and also how he gets complaints all the time so he is used to it and doesn’t give a care about our complaint. First time ordering from Big Roc and won't be the last. Really good Chinese food. Ginger Beef was really good. Sweet and Sour Chicken balls were lightly battered with big pieces of chicken. Salt and Pepper Squid was excellent. Squid was tender and coating was crisp and nicely spiced. The Yang Chow rice is a meal in itself.
The Chinese food here is good, but the difference maker is the staff. It’s a busy place, lots of takeout orders, a buffet and more, but the young ladies are what makes it tick. It’s sad that good, friendly service is so shocking, but if that’s what you want, head to this place.
Was there on October 7/21. New Menu is Awesome, Great Food, Very Fresh, Portion Sizes really good. We have 5 Tapas between 2 of us and could not eat it all. Lunch for 2 with leftovers to take home $29.00 cannot go wrong. Love it. We have been there twice since they reoopened.
