I often order the Family Fish Fry, and it's an amazing value compared to the single meal Fish Fry or the eight-piece option! I can easily split this order into several meals. Not only is it a fantastic price, but the quality and preparation are nearly flawless! The fish is fried with the ideal type and amount of batter—not too thick, allowing the fish's flavor to shine while also keeping it moist and preventing it from being overcooked. It's always juicy and perfectly flaky. The French fries are abundant, golden, and fried to perfection. The coleslaw, however, is the only downside; it's not made in-house and comes in a sealed tub.
We love Big Y. We don't have one close to us in Waterford anymore, unfortunately. We are moving to Groton soon and will be shopping and using their pharmacy. We stopped by the Groton store recently on our way to to an appointment and were delighted in the food selections. One question, where, in Groton, can we redeem gas points?
I absolutely love their party pizzas! You can get everything done quickly in just 1-2 hours. They offer a Grinder Station, a Chicken Wing Bar, and a Rotisserie Station featuring some of the best whole rotisserie chickens I’ve ever had. I also have to mention their freshly prepared seafood, although it's not a full seafood menu.
This grocery store has truly become my favorite. Although their prices on brand-name items may be higher than those at other grocery stores, their shop brand products are exceptional. From pizza to seafood, Big Y offers high-quality food. I hope that after shopping here, you'll also consider it your favorite!

I really enjoy shopping at this large supermarket. It’s tidy and well-maintained, and the customer service staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The store has a wide variety of offerings with its extensive sections. Plus, it's conveniently located right next to my favorite store, Stop & Shop.
Clean as opposed to the other food stores. A great produce section with lots of fresh veg and fruit that's much better than Stop Shop. The bakery section has a great selection of fresh desserts and breads.
Of all food in the area, Big Y is definitely my favorite. Always well equipped and tidy. Staff are always very friendly and helpful. And the cakes from their bakery...
The large Italian sub was fantastic, and the french fries were still hot when I received my order. Thank you so much, Big Y DoorDash, for such a delicious meal!

The fish and chips and the large Italian sub were excellent. However, the pizza was a bit greasy, and the sauce had a little too much spice for my taste.
