My partner and I were in Harrington Square for some groceries and decided to try out Birdcage. As soon as we walked in, we felt the lively atmosphere with students getting takeaway drinks, commuters ordering coffee, and friendly baristas greeting us and quickly seating us. The cafe's space and design were charming, with relaxing music, exposed brick walls, tasty treats, a play area for kids, plenty of natural light, and even a tree in the middle of the cafe. My daughter and I decided to go the the Birdcage for my Mothers Day brekkie and we weren't disappointed. Coffee was strong and hot and the food was tasty. I had the Birdcage big breakfast and couldn't finish it because there was so much on the plate! The service was quick (even though they were extremely busy) and friendly. A lovely surprise was a complimentary cupcake for Mothers Day. We will definitely be back.
On a hot summer day, we really needed an amazing cold iced coffee. That's exactly what we got and it was fantastic. Friendly service and nice shady seats outside in the afternoon. Nice decor inc. log coffee table and odd/heavy concrete stools but there are other seating options so take your pick. We'll be back to try the brunch menu.
We enjoyed a tasty breakfast at this restaurant on their first day of opening! The food, particularly the mushrooms and halloumi on toast with poached eggs, was excellent. I have visited this restaurant for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. They have a rotating seasonal menu that always offers a tasty new dish to try. The food is consistently high quality, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is very relaxing. I highly recommend it.
