We went there after a bike trip from Nuremberg and I literally had the best burger (Früchtchen was it) of my life. The location is great, right in the old town and they have a nice, sunny terrace to enjoy a warm summer day. Inside...the restaurant looked also very stylish with extraordinary decorations. The waitress was pretty friendly, giving recommendations on their menu. That was a hard decision which place to choose to eat and I guess it was the best one we could have made. The only thing I was just a bit disappointed was the artificial-tasting mint syrup in homemade lemonade (ginger-mint-lemon one). It would be better if they used fresh mint leaves. I visited the Birkel's alone during lunch time at the weekend. It was about half reserved and half walk-in. The furnishing is a mix of rustic brick and wood with dim light, overall very cozy and comfortable. Some benches and high chairs do not have...a backrest. The service was fast and friendly. The weekly menu offered traditional Franconian choices (e.g. Zwiebelkuchen, Schäufele) while the permanent menu is mostly about burgers. The burger was perfectly medium (although I was not asked how I wanted it), the home made fries delicious. Everything tasted fresh. The home made lemonades are great! Very much recommended for a burger above everything I could find around Nürnberg so far!
we visited the place on a sunny afternoon to lunch outside. delicious food and good service. I especially like the flexibility when composing the dips. Essen burger is quite trendy in these days but the ones they offer here are very tasty. I had an salad with mushrooms, light and well composed. my daughter has eaten flaky cake, tasty! and not to forget that the imperial bullies at the end filled our joyous. what is usually difficult in franconia. opening times. we arrived at us for lunch. no problem! that's what I love. it is quieter to eat outside the typical lunch. very recommended place! we come back.
My wife and I had lunch here today purely by chance. The Italian restaurant we wanted to eat at wasn't open and we saw Birkel's Essundtrinkbar across the street and, since it was open, we decided to give it a try. We were both glad...we did. The burgers are big, juicy and delicious. Now I know where I'll be getting my burgers from now on.

We had a few drinks in this bar which also serves food (burgers). We enjoyed our evening there as it is a very cosy and friendly place.They have a large choice of beers and different gins (as well as cocktails etc). Definitely will come...back! PS: please replace your ugly red and white straws with something that better fits the location
surprise them, what a beautiful place they can find, only from the coincidence. A few minutes from the autobahn near nurnberg and they land in a great burgerplatz. in the pedestrian zone, but parking close to. very good selection at house made burger.
My wife had a sudden desire for an hamburger (she's pregnant). I quickly found this restaurant. We don't regret it. Hamburgers and flamkuchen are excellent. They serve huge portions for an affordable price. Good ambiance and nice decoration as well.
We had a very good couple of drinks. Waitress was friendly and it was comfy. Just the red and white straws looked out of place in an otherwise nice trendy bar (also serves burgers but we didn't have any).
