ideal for visiting friends in a nearby village, we discovered this small family hotel, which is mainly for local diners and German tourists. the staff was friendly and helpful, our immaculate clean room had all the bases for a nightstop. bed. beautiful. towel dinner had an extensive menu with local delicacies. the breakfast was super, included in the trips, but either away excellent worth. the location is ideal for waking up, cycling or enjoying the landscape with views of the landscape, easy access by car and bus. we will definitely stay there and eat there again, the birkenhof is simply recommended.
I live nearby and the Birkenhof is one of our favorite restaurants. Filet steak with pepper sauce and fries, salad bar, bread and a dish of appetizers costs 16.50€ and the steal is cooked perfectly. My wife usually has one of the fish dishes and...is always happy. The menu varies during the year, and they have specials most nights. Personally I am not a fan of the buffet evening but it is popular with others. I always look forward to the hunting season when there is wild pig, deer, hare etc. There is a large outside terrace with views of the fields. The wine menu is limited but the prices are fair.
This restaurant is very conveniently located as a base for hiking in the beautiful wooded and hilly area. From the restaurant are nice views of the cattle in the pastures. Given the favorable price, the food is very tasty and the menu offers plenty of...possibilities. For lunch there is every day of the week a different food theme. The Sunday brunch is very large considering the low price.
I love to visit this restaurant in the aachener part of town. it is gone in the woods with a view of a field. good service and personal. we always come for afternoon weeping and cake that is excellent. put on the terrace if the weather is good!

Stopped off for a quick bite. Had the schnitzel and chips, it was excellent. Followed by Black Forest cake.
