Simple cafe that is located near Belconnen lake and surrounded by Kangara Waters retirement village. Plenty of indoor and shaded outdoor seating areas. There is no table service though ordering at the counter is simple enough with friendly staff who are eager to please. Good selection of muffins and cakes for a snack and a good menu for a meal. Drinks are the usual selection of coffee, tea, hot chocolate and milkshakes. There is limited visitor parking near the cafe. Alternatively go for a walk around the lake and drop in for a drink and cake or perhaps a meal.
Birrigai is hidden away off the road, but well worth finding, and is a short side tip off the pedestrian/bike trail around Lake Ginninderra. Recently extended, it has lovely views down to the lake, and a good quality VERY well priced brunch/lunch menu. The coffee is excellent, there is an excellent range of cakes and the food is well prepared and very tasty. Service always seems to be exceptional - I have visited >10 times and it is unfailingly cheerful and polite.
My ladies group, who meets for lunch once a month, recently dined at Birrigai Restaurant. We were impressed with the menu and the delicious food. I ordered the tasty pork scallops, which were served with crispy steamed fresh vegetables. For dessert, I enjoyed the lemon tart and a cup of coffee. We have decided to make Birrigai our regular lunch spot due to the excellent food and service. I would give it a 10 out of 10 rating.
We enjoyed a beautiful Canberra winter day with a warm sun under the lovely blue sky at the outdoor area of Birrigai. It was the perfect spot to grab a coffee before our Lake G circuit walk.

Serving snacks, lunches and mains this cafe / restaurant provides food at very reasonable prices. I had grilled Barra and it was delicious. The venue also offers a pretty view of the lake.
Such a charming cafe! The service is excellent, the food is delicious, and we love that it's dog-friendly outside. We always have a great time having breakfast here.
