Nous sommes arrivés sans réservation pour un déjeuner dominical à cinq. Nous avons été accueillis très chaleureusement. L'atmosphère était excellente. Le service était impeccable. C'était une très chaude journée : nous avons bénéficié de carafes d'eau fraîche constamment renouvelées, c'était fantastique. La nourriture était vraiment délicieuse (saumon, couscous végétarien et nem, tartare de boeuf et copieux (j'ai ADORÉ les frites !). Le café gourmand était vraiment très généreux. La personne dont c'était l'anniversaire avait des bougies scintillantes sur son dessert et nous avons tous apprécié un verre de bulles offert. Le propriétaire a vraiment fait des efforts pour nous faire sentir spéci...
Normally Bistro Regent is a great place to eat, but I made the mistake of going early evening. The waiter looked shocked to see me and was obviously peed off that he had to put his cigarette down to deal with me. Never mind, you can't go wrong with a steak and chips here I thought. Steak was good, actually cooked the way I asked but I was mightily annoyed to be served a bowl of fries which were left over from lunch and blatently reheated to the point of being burnt. For the sake of a few leftover fries you pretty much ruined the meal for me. My French is poor so complaining is difficult but even so this is not the standard I expect from Bistro Regent.
