We dined at this restaurant in November of 2021 and enjoyed it so much that we returned in November of 2022. I ordered steak and fries with French onion soup, while my wife and sister-in-law both had the warm chicken salad, which they found to be excellent. My brother-in-law opted for an elk burger with French onion soup, which he also thought was excellent. For dessert, both couples shared the maple syrup cake, which was delicious. Our waitress was very friendly and even remembered us from our previous visit. I highly recommend eating at this restaurant, but suggest making a reservation as it is a small establishment with seating for around 32 people.
Elisa was my waitress this evening. Her magnetic personality immediately made an impression on me. The courtesy and efficiency were outstanding as well. And let’s talk about the food . . . AMAZING! I started off with snail stew which was so good that I could have made a meal out of that alone! You know it’s good when you can’t wait to go back so that you can get it again!!! Then the fish chips arrived to the table . . . Another terrific choice! I will most definitely make this my “Go To” restaurant whenever I’m visiting my favorite Canadian city! Thanks Elisa and thanks Bistro Sous Le Fort for making this vacation one of my best!!!

Before or after your visit, take a leisurely stroll through the picturesque area. We kicked off our dining experience with a delectable snail stew that was rich and buttery. For our main course, we tried the sweetbreads which were prepared to perfection, accompanied by a savory gravy. The duck confit dish was equally delightful. The service was attentive and the pacing of the meal was just right. If you find yourself in Old Quebec City, a visit to this cozy restaurant is a must.
We were fortunate to dine at Bistro Sous le Fort in Old Quebec. Special thanks to our server Caroline and Elisa for accommodating our group of four. It was a fantastic experience - the food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was just right. Caroline was amazing, making everyone in the restaurant feel like family and old friends. Whether we were travelers, newlyweds, or regulars, she took care of us all with care and enthusiasm. The food was cooked perfectly and served promptly. This restaurant is a must-visit in Old Quebec, and we highly recommend making reservations in advance.

My wife opted for the French Onion soup, which seemed to be a popular choice among patrons. She felt that a bit more cheese would have made it even better. For our main courses, we enjoyed the Mushroom Ravioli with plenty of sauce, and I had the Cod Fish and chips. The fish was incredibly moist with a light batter, just the way I like it, and accompanied by a creamy salad. It was the perfect meal before a quick nap to prepare for New Year's Eve festivities. We will definitely be returning to this charming spot.
My son happened to make a reservation here and he couldn’t meet us due to being under the weather. The atmosphere was beautiful, the food simply delicious and the service was INCREDIBLE. The gentleman who was working out front was so friendly and welcoming. Wish we knew his name, just can’t say enough about his level of service which is very rare. This was simply an incredible dining experience and we will definitely be going back when we return to Quebec City.
We had a great time at this charming bistro in the historic downtown area. The food was excellent, especially the steak frites and the delicious French onion soup. The desserts were fantastic, especially the maple cake. We also enjoyed a delicious homemade warm cider. Our server was very friendly. We highly recommend this bistro. Due to limited seating, we suggest calling ahead for a reservation.
Delicious food and great service, beautiful little gem of a place! Very welcoming ambience and service was outstanding. Shrimp tempura and French Onion Soup was delicious, the little side salad and dressing was so fresh and tasty. We also loved our Fish n Chips and Mushroom Ravioli entrees. I loved this place, it was my favorite dining experience of our trip.

It was time for dinner ashore near the end of our cruise and we were looking for a good dinner. A whole in the wall type of location and provided the right meal just when needed. Not expecting much, we were pleasantly surprised. The onion soup was terrific, as were other dishes we ordered. Only drawbacks, tiny and no advance reservations.
