Given one menu between three people and expected to know our order within five minutes of arriving; well, that’s the attitude of the young lady serving us as she blatantly rolled her eyes at us because we weren’t ready to order! The second time the young lady came to take our order, the last of our party was trying to find the pizza on the menu (as well as clearly trying to keep an eye on her small child! as it is on the downloadable version from the website and clearly advertised on the café’s Facebook cover photo!! Our Family used Bistro Twenty Four after the funeral of my Mum. We booked a small room at the back for a celebration of a long life. Sandwiches and snacks were ordered in advance from the restaurant and a Bar was there for hot and cold drinks. It was perfect. Bearing in mind we had just come from a Funeral the balance. feel and vibe of the restaurant was just right. Sandwiches food were great and LOADS for the money we paid. Beer, wine and drinks were reasonably priced and the Beer was cold. The staff are young and did their absolute best, they were a great combination of attentive but without being too much. Popped in for a coffee as it was raining. Service was good, polite and we were served promptly. All the staff seemed very young and all appeared to be drinking from cans behind the service counter. 2 cans looked like Red Bull. One lady undid her hair, tidied it, tied it back up and then handled food. Another female had her long hair loose and was delivering plates of food to customers. A male sneezed onto the back of his hand and then picked up 2 plates of food. I felt that hygiene is not a priority. I have eaten here before but might not in the future.
We stopped off here for a quick dinner on our way down to London. The staff were friendly, the restaurant was quiet and we enjoyed a lovely, reasonably priced meal. For a family of 4 with 4 meals and 2 alcoholic drinks we paid just over £40 which we thought was very reasonable. The chilli con carne and curry were delicious and the kids both enjoyed scampi and chips. All in all a cheap and cheerful meal out. Réservez une table maintenant
Had the rare privilege of eating both lunch and dinner here today. I had the cheese and bacon burger for lunch and in the evening enjoyed a number of glasses of Prosecco and the rustichella pizza. Both were served hot, both were mouth-wateringly delicious. The atmosphere is chilled and friendly and the staff are wonderful. Can’t recommend this place enough. Such a gem.
Fab service from the moment you step through the doors..... The team is small however they are so friendly and do anything for you. The Bistro is a nice buzzing place to be, great food and drinks take care of the kiddies when visiting with them. The live music events held here are great too and bring more joy to the place. Thank you, we will defiantly keep returning.
Recommended by local library ladies so visited for lunch with elderly mother. Great parking outside good greeting assistance for disabled mother. Great menu so chose baked potato with tuna/sweet corn a bacon Brie panini. Swift service with a smile efficiency. Loved busy Friday lunch atmosphere. Staff customers very chatty friendly. Delightful well done.
A pleasant enough premises HD the eggs Benedict with crushed avocado just hit the spot. The young lady who served us was very nice and smiled a lot. Note to the owner listen to staff and buy a new large teapot there as there was more tea on the table than in the cups Réservez une table maintenant
