On a business trip to Pau, went out for dinner with no specific plans, just figured we'd find somewhere. We looked at a couple of places but then found Les Relais. The menu was much the same as the previous restaurants, the only difference was that it looked busy vs. the others which were empty. We decided to go with the crowd and glad we did. The food was very good and there was a really nice atmosphere in the restaurant. We had fois gras and bone marrow to start with shrimp and scallops for main. Looking at other dishes being served around us, the fish, duck and steaks all looked good. Someone on a table nearby had steak tartar and what looked like a lb of beef arrived. Huge, but looked go...
Out shopping in the meridian mall and went here for lunch. The place was busy for a Monday but the waitress came over quickly and returned again quickly with our drinks and good size bottle of water. we both decided on the plat de jour which was piece du boucher (steak) with a choice of sauce and frites. this did not take long to arrive and looking round most people seemed to go for this or the duck option. the meat was really good and very tasty with no chewey bits I had recently paid twice as much for a steak I was disappointed with..The Roquefort sauce was also very good. for a shopping mall diner I was very happy with this and would go again. and at 10.50 for steak and chips you cant go...
Good ambience, but the day we ate there we were kept waiting almost an hour for our food. My pièce de boucher was so thick, like a doorstep, and very tough. The service was indifferent, although the personnel are pleasant, they were evidently overworked. A disappointing experience. We have eaten here previously, and were reasonably satisfied, will hesitate before eating here again.
An unplanned late lunch but a table found in a packed restaurant, prompt service with excellent moules (marinière and à la crème , good economic wine, and cafe gourmand to finish. We were amongst the last to leave but no sense of being rushed, we will go again.

I have never waited so long for a meal in my life. It looked like the kitchen was not working. The food is average. We waited for more than an hour. For the starters and than another 40 minutes for the main dishes. Very very disappointing
Accueil chaleureux, service correct mais trop cher pour la qualité. C'est dommage, nous venions tous les ans, mais c'est fini.
Good location. The restaurant is situated on the top floor of a shopping mall. Below average food quality, slow service.
