this small place is a wonderful restaurant that brings it into the French landscape, viz. aveyron. it is a very cozy place with great staff. the prices are not very high, but this is ingenious. we had the cheese and cold cut plate and the fried. then the sausage with aligot (baked potato with cheese) one when we tried a delicious steak (aubrac bark). the desserts are also great: they should taste the chocolate and hazelnut dessert and especially the crème brûlée, which is excellent.

We had dinner at Bistrot Melac on a weekday evening in September. Melac had been recommended to us by friends who had dined there in the past and described it to us as a lively neighborhood bistrot.. We were the first diners to arrive and...among the few present that evening. We ordered the tripous and the entrecote, neither of which lived up to our expectations; the pain perdu for dessert was the best part of the meal for us.. Service was casual.

the service was unconsistent and not all the dishes were amazing, but there were some standouts that opened for the rest. the roasted knochenmark started delicious. the saucisse with aligot (thick, cheesy, creamy, stretchable kartoffels! was not only beautiful on the plate,...but the aromen were excellent. and the homemade brotpudding dessert was really a tasty bite.

I went after bistrot melac on recommendation of my pariser friends and it was simply the culinary highlight of my trip. the wine selection was great and the duck I ordered was from this world. my friend, who was vegetarian, ordered the burratta and really loved her. the staff is wonderful and warm, but their English is quite minimal. a truly authentic experience.
