Had lunch there today. Charming ambiance (see pics), soft music, nice menu. Uniquely, they make 14 soups for lunch, which they transform to enhance their dinner entrees. I had the mushroom soup, hubby had broccoli. Mine was thick and creamy, featuring a large, tender Cremini. I prefer a milder flavor, this soup was full bodied, a bit heavily spiced for my taste. Accompanying toasted artisan bread lovely. I gave BK 4 stars since hubby loved his burger! We went on a Friday evening at 6:30. We were seated in the bar, which is rather small, considering there was a table for 4 and our table for 2 in addition to bar seating. The bar was directly behind my wife and was full with a few standees. The noise level was rather high due to the crowd and the small space. We ordered Manhattans, Caesar Salad and an Angus burger to split as we find that restaurant portions are generally much too large. The drinks were excellent as was the salad. extraordinary of the moment we came in. the service was impeccable. that was our first visit. I wanted to go somewhere new and especially during this crazy time, wanted to support a local self-seated restaurant. it was not disappointing and I can't expect to go back. the appetizers, especially the muscheln were exceptional. the balance of all escapes was incredible. but they must save space for dessert. we had the dome. my man was in heaven. a must!
They ignored our Open Table reservation and tried to put us at the bar. The service was almost comically poor but the food was awesome. Ultimately, I’m sure I will return. The great food and the chance to support a local business is enough for me to overlook the terrible and unprofessional service. Be warned though...they don’t care about the reservation you make at this site.

This was our first time to this restaurant. We had a reservation and were seated right away. Overall we had an amazing experience. We met the owners and head chef and had a very nice conversation. The food was impressive and the ambiance was spot on for a quite dinner.
Hidden gem! Food and drinks were great! Hats off to the chef and the staff! Everyone was kind, even got a chance to speak to the chef at the end of the night. Will definitely be back! My steak was like butter, so mad I forgot to take a picture lol.
Delicious food, amazing service, really beautiful interior. Healthy and you can tell care and attention goes into everything.
I have dined at the Black Kettle a number of times and have always enjoyed the entire experience. Very kozy and friendly.
