Updating this and dropping it to one star. If you liked Blackbird Cafe don’t bother going back. They combined with a Mexican restaurant and the new manager only cares about it. They cook the burgers on the same grill with the Mexican food and they lowered the quality of the beef. So when we went back to give it another chance I tried the chicken tenders. They were anything but tender. The fries are mediocre. It’s a real shame. New management has destroyed a good restaurant. I figure it will all turn into a Mexican restaurant soon. I am very disappointed with the service! The food used to be good, but every time we try to support this restaurant, there’s an issue with our order. When we brought this up, one of the employees responded with, "Well, what do you want me to do about it?" This attitude is simply unacceptable! We ordered three sweet teas, but they were all unsweetened. One staff member mentioned that if we wanted to return them, they would "try" to find us some sweet tea. "You will try?" Additionally, our order was missing sauces, and the cheese in the quesadilla wasn’t even melted. I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was of excellent quality, and the staff were incredibly friendly. What a great find! Cute place with a nice selection of food at reasonable prices. Service was prompt and friendly. I had the Sandtown Club which was very good with generous portions. Fries were really good. The other people in my party said all their food was great. We ate early dinner there. Inside was very hot as if they had no air-conditioning. The flies were so bad we had to cover our food with napkins and lift to get a bite. If you like flies and heat then this place is for you. I met a friend for lunch and was delighted by the menu options, which also included cocktails! I tried the crispy fried shrimp, and it was absolutely delicious!
