So I went here yesterday for lunch with work colleagues … I was sooo impressed, the lady who I assumed to be the manager with black hair was so welcoming and friendly, the pub was spotlessly clean and the food I felt was such good...value for money. There was another lady behind the bar who was also so friendly…. I came out thrilled to have found this great pub right round the corner from work with such great staff. I went back with different work colleagues today for lunch, raving about how impressed I was yesterday…. Only today I had a completely different experience. I visited today and asked for the brunch of a burger and a pint. I put the order and asked for a hand pulled pint of beeston cider, confirming that this was ok. the girl tried to burden me, which cost a spider of zider to ignore the offer. I've gone in disgust. I just gave the pub to make my results known. the right result is zero.
Me and my partner came for a few drinks and food for a date night. We had such a great night, service was quick and food was great. The staff were so polite and lovely to talk too. There was a lovely young girl behind...the bar called Lizzie who was very efficient and polite when serving us. Will definitely be returning!!
Astonished that in a time when the pub industry needs customers my friend and I were refused entry at last night with doors locked etc despite the pub being relatively busy. We come to St Albans from Luton once a month and visit a...few pubs. Blacksmiths is one we visit EVERY TIME. No longer I'm afraid.

Popped into the black smiths with a drink with the girls and had a great night! Sophie from behind the bar was very friendly and gave great servers. Would happily return.

Love to see a good, juicy vegan burger on a pub menu! Were planning on eating at the **** inn but thought the one across the road looked even better..
immersed to have a beer in the sun, which is an amazing garden, but there early for the best places! defo one for the summer nights.
