What a little gem, tucked away in the village of Blakeny. You 'd think that a village of just 1,300 (according to the 2021 census , wouldn 't boast a takeaway of this level. We first popped in about 7 years ago, and have only returned once before today. Thankfully, there has been no change to the plaice [I 'll get my coat... , perhaps it 's better as the range of food available has increased. From your standard Fish Chips (which you 've just GOT to try, to hear the crunch of the batter on the fish, and taste the lack of permeated cooking oil so nothing can swim back to the sea in it! , battered sausage, mushy peas (no apologies I 'm from the North! , etc, to Burgers , Kebabs, the list goes o...
Popped in to get cod and chips, with some curry sauce to eat up at Mallards Pike on a lovely, sunny evening. Have driven past and thought about doing this a number of times and this time, we stopped. We were not disappointed. Service was very efficient and friendly. Price was very reasonable and I would say on par with every other chippy I've been to in the area. The food was delicious, very tasty indeed. Food portion size, not too much just right. The curry sauce was a real hit. Most definitely going back. TY
