We went for a date night and after we ordered a bottle of wine, side salad, a pasta dish and fish and chips, the bill came out to $132.00 which is a fair price for what we ordered, however our service was lacking maybe because we came in after 8:30 on a week day and the restaurant was winding down. What got me confused was our gratuity was added in already and there was an additional service fee both with tax and fees pushed the bill to over $175.00 which for wine, pasta and fish and chips felt high to us. I inquired about the additional fee and it was described as a way to not have to remake menu's more often when prices change. That's on odd answer for a menu that also has MP pricing for highly fluctuations in seafood pricing. When I mentioned that to the waiter he said well when Lone Tree dropped their additional taxes for restaurants, the management decided to keep the fee to help with costs. I guess that's okay if you want to compete in the local market with $25.00 fish and chips, the added fee does factor in the price, and we will most likely not return as a result of it. Probably the added fee and pre-calculated gratuity may have an impact with the locals. Especially when Jack's Seafood and Steak House opens where the old Mimi's Cafe was and they don't charge $35.00 for Fish and Chips with tax and added fees.
