Blue Orchid Chinese

We were a table of 8 and had booked in advance. We were seated quick in the downstairs area and served drinks quite quickly. But then things seemed to slow down. Prawn crackers arrived but no-one seemed to want to take our order. My friend let them know that we had a minibus picking us up in 2 hours but still that didn't seem to shift them. Whilst the food, when it eventually arrived, was lovely the whole experience took too long to get started and we felt rushed at the end which was a pity. If only they'd taken our order early it would have been perfect and we'd have probably drank a couple of extra bottles of wine post-meal. It had all the promise of a great meal but fell short.

I believe we came here shortly after our marriage in 1973. There is a tasty reason while we return time over time these years. Times change and now my wife is disabled and is always treated with the same kindness and attention. Richard follows in his grandfather tradition in being the genial host. I had the sizzling beef dish this time. They were very busy for a Thursday evening (maybe the new Friday? and the service was slower, but hey not a problem for us.

family run best chinese for miles around,we travel from billericay to romford once or twice a month.the owners are very hospitable and very good hosts,always make you feel welcome.the food is excellent and you can always get something different thats not on the menu,just ask richard for his specials,we ordered a turbot as a treat and boy was it good,slightly expensive but well worth it.can recommend to anyone,top marks

I had a wonderful time at this restaurant. Richard and the rest of the staff were welcoming and friendly. The restaurant had a great atmosphere and was beautifully decorated. The menu had a wide variety of classic dishes as well as some unique options. The food was delicious and generously portioned. Réservez une table maintenant

I decided to visit this restaurant based on the recommendation of the fantastic Johnny Fisher. The atmosphere was great and it was pleasantly busy for a Thursday night. The service was attentive but not intrusive, and the food was outstanding. Thanks to Johnny for the great recommendation.

I have eaten at The Blue Orchid several times over the past couple of months. The food is really tasty and the portions are generous. The customer service is excellent. Plenty of staff on hand to serve and ensure you have everything you want.

Absolutely superb..nothing was a trouble, staff treated us as one of the family We ordered lots of different dishes. 5 adults one teenager and everyone was catered for This place is quality .

Cracking Chinese restaurant and had a great time over the weekend. Will definitely return for sure. I wish I were closer but worth the trip
