Blue Toque Diner - Réserver une table

We thought we'd give the blue toque a try for a weekday breakfast. With only 1 other table, we thought the service would be good. We were told to sit at a table for 2 in case they got busy, no problem. Except the next table of 2 that came in were seated at a table for 4 by the window. Hmmm. it went downhill from there. We were given menus by an unfriendly waitress and then sat for 10 minutes while she got coffees for the 1st table, then went to the table that came in after us and took their order. Another woman was wondering around looking at pictures on the wall and could maybe have helped the waitress if she couldn't handle 3 tables at once. We just left, it was a very unfriendly place. This is a small restaurant in the Old Train Station right downtown.Excellent and friendly wait staff. and outstanding chefs !There are about 25 breakfast offerings, most with eggs- and all can be customized. Th only place I have ever eaten that offered "soft, medium, or hard poached eggs" !There were four of us and each got something different- every dish was perfectly cooked and seasoned with fresh ingredients and delicious !As examples I had poached eggs on an English muffin with tomatoes and spinach and Romesco sauce with sausage on the side. Hunting for good breakfast spot on Easter Sunday was never going to be easy but wow what a find with help from TripAdvisor.Cute little place in Fernie's old train station serving great food, very pleasant staff and obviously a popular destination. You might have to wait but it's worth it.

Pretty good portions sizes of interesting food that is often slow to arrive. The intimate space crowds in lots of hungry patrons. The service can be slow when there are so many people in there, but when it's not so busy things run much more smoothly.

Neat train station conversion for a restaurant .... food was so tasty altho' they got one of our orders wrong but all in all yummy ! Friendly staff when ordering our breakfasts . Could sit outside or inside ... your choice .

Find this gem in the old train station. Creative and delicious food, tons of selection. Great patio and atmosphere. The owner and server provided fantastic service and the kids were entertained by the chalk and bubbles.

I arrived in Fernie late in the morning on my bicycle and was really wanting breakfast. I stopped in and had an exquisite omelet and pancakes. It has great atmosphere and the food was stellar.

It took a while to seat us even though there were plenty of available seats. Our food took a while although the waitress did apologize. We also paid before our table was cleared.

Came here for breakfast for my birthday with friends. Excellent food and very excellent service. We were in a hurry and the waitress made sure she got our orders through quickly.
