Heading back to Lisbon from northern Portugal, we decided to stop off in Torres Novas to see the castle and get dinner. We haven’t made it to the castle yet, but dinner was outstanding. In fact, this restaurant sits at the base of it we have a great view of the towers). The entire waitstaff were warm and personable and most importantly spoke English. We ordered bread with olive oil/garlic, a T-bone steak for two, and house red and white wines. Not all Portuguese bread is equal, but for you bread connoisseurs, it got the meal off to a good start. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the drinks were well prepared but they have a seating situation whereby underneath the canopy you must order food whereas the tables behind the canopy you can just drink. I was not hungry and was not able to sit Under The Canopy however after I received my drink and saw the menu I wanted to order some fries but unfortunately they could not serve me unless I moved back to a chair Under The Canopy. This was unfortunate and I feel silly to restrict people from being able to eat simply because they want to reserve the tables for eating in the front.
Os pratos do dia para o almoço e toda a carta durante o dia sempre têm um toque especial que deixa pratos conhecidos ao gosto português (ou não) sempre com um diferencial, seja nos ingredientes, texturas, sabores e fusões. Excelente chef, excelente escolha de pratos e sabores. As escolhas com carinho, audácia e paixão são notadas.
Bom local pra tomar um imperial ou um drink, comer petiscos, ou mesmo jantar. O ambiente é muito bom e sempre são simpáticos. Quando tem muitas mesas na parte de fora, o atendimento demora um pouco, mas é compreensível. Eu recomendo.
