I recommend this place with all my heart (and stomach). I lived in Granada in the 1990s as a student, long before Trip Advisor; heck, before the popularity of most things on the internet (if you can imagine). This was a time when folks in...Granada often didn't have phones in their homes (I used a payphone) and their were still hidden treasures like gypsy caves, dimly lit tea houses (maybe, they still exist), ancient Moorish castles (The Alhambra definitely still exists; a landmark worth the visit) and family run restaurants like Boabdil, which offered meal plans for poor college students, like me at the time. I was recommended Boabdil from a kind teacher, who lived in Granada for many years because of the economical, and generous portions of dishes they served of traditional Spanish meals. After my first visit, I found myself coming back, daily. The family behind Boabdil became like my family to me, as I optioned for the meal plans they offered at the time. When I broke my leg and got sick, they delivered the food to my door high on in the Albaicin (old neighborhood), near Plaza de Los Negros. And when I visited ten years later for my sister's wedding to a Spaniard, I was greeting like family, as if I had never left. While you might consider my review prejudiced because of my close connection to the family that owns this marvelous place, it didn't start that way, this close connection was earned because of the people who run this place, hard workers, who manage to entertain as they feed their customers, who often become friends. This is why this restaurant has become a part of the culture that makes Granada and the people living their special. I cannot recommend this place stronger!
