"If you are in the Marmande region, you MUST try this restaurant. We are fortunate as we live about 15 minutes away. It is not a restaurant to eat in on a daily basis but if you want to try incredible food and be really spoiled then this is the place for you. The service is warm and welcoming and overall it is a magical experience."

This is definitely a restaurant for a special occasion. Everything about it oozes style and quality, from the building itself through the décor, the service by a knowledgeable Maitre D and of course the food. Located along one of the main roads leading out of the town of Marmande, it had only been open just over a year when my wife and I visited it in September 2012. There were two menus available for dinner, a four course menu at 42€ and a more extensive one (menu saveurs) at €60. We opted for the latter and enjoyed a splendid seven courses cooked expertly by Annabelle Boat. We were told that Annabelle had trained in Talence, near Bordeaux and at restaurants nearby. An amuse bouche consisted of melon with mint, sautéed fish ball with creamy vegetable emulsion and a chopped vegetable pate. The starter was pan fried foie gras with a crumble of red fruits and rice flower. This course was highly unusual and exceptional. Next there was a dish of squid horns stuffed with finely diced vegetables cooked in stock and accompanied by octopus. The whole thing was set off by a magnificent fish sauce. A fish course of monkfish served with crispy polenta, tomato, garlic, basil and olive oil which also came with deep fried fennel. The crowning glory was milk fed veal which just melted in your mouth and served with a highly reduced jus, carrots and onion cream. A selection of cheeses is included and we had Roblechon and Tombe. The sweet course was a trio of ice cream in a soufflé coat, a very tasty rum Baba and a chocolate coffee mousse. There is an impressive range of coffees depending on your preference for light, medium or strong. There is a good list of Bordeaux wines and some from Provence if you prefer Rose. Most are in the price range of 15€ to 25€ but there are more expensive bottles if you are a wine connoisseur or want to try out the more prestigious labels. All in all a very fine dining experience produced by a young chef with a real love for her profession.

This is a relatively expensive restaurant set menu €44 for a four course dinner: however the food was beautifully presented and well served, with some interesting dishes and mise en bouches. I personally felt a bit overwhelmed with too many flavours competing in my main course (Rable du lapin). The portions are small. The cheese course was different the chef had created a warm camembert and fig salad. The deserts were works of art. The plates were very well selected in different shapes to complement the dish. The dining room is rather austere. It was a fitting end to 10 gastronomic days in SW france. AR

Really great food. The clever mise-en-bouches, a delight on the tongue. I could go on about the food for quite some time but to suffice it to say, go try it. You will not be disappointed Well chosen wine list that compliments the food. A lot of thought has been given to the entire presentation. Service, formal, discreet and just right.

Whilst first impressions of the terrace were a bit of a surprise it seemed as if it was somewhat unfinished (in comparison to the restaurant which is immaculate) but we were looked after very well by the chef 's mum who was quite charming. The food was divine and I 'd have no hesitation making a recommendation or returning. Thank you.
