We had a reservation for dinner at an early hour on Valentine 's Day and were promptly greeted and taken into the towards the fully empty dining room. We had to wait and walk around a couple of waiters who seemed to be more interested in their own conversation while standing in our path than being aware of their surroundings. The hostess plowed along leaving us in her wake and left us to face the obstacle of waiters jawing away on our own. This restaurant is located on the pier overlooking Lake Tahoe, offering stunning views from every window and outdoor table. There are several plastic tables outside, which would be a great spot for a casual drink while watching the sunset. The service was excellent, with a warm and welcoming staff. Unfortunately, the food left much to be desired. Both entrees we ordered were bland and lacked flavor. The clam chowder and taco tortillas were barely edible and left an unpleasant aftertaste. The Boathouse is the best restaurant around! It has beautiful views of the lake. The atmosphere is romantic and elegant, but it would also be good for family dining. The decor is beautiful and very upscale. The food is beyond excellent! Every time we have eaten at The Boathouse we have been blown away by the food. It's so delicious. The servers are friendly, and always eager to please and accommodate you. All together The Boathouse is the best restaurant we have been to. We look forward to many more meals there!
We visited for happy hour and returned for dinner. The service was incredibly friendly, and the food was outstanding. We started with the shrimp appetizer in a goat cheese sauce, which was delicious. For our main course, we ordered the salmon, and it was a generous portion that was truly enjoyable. I can't wait to return the next time we're in SLT. The view was fantastic. Thank you for a wonderful evening that we won't forget!

We were seated outside as requested. Beautiful view but people kept coming out to see the view on a tiny balcony and taking pictures and talking. They would hang by our table and talk. It took away from the experience. People that are not sitting outside should not be allowed to come out and take over others space. Then the food was served. Not good at all and expensive. Would not return to this restaurant.
Everything from the service, ambience, view to the food was absolutely perfect! My boyfriend and I both had the clam chowder for appetizer then we each had the New York steak with mashed potatoes and veggies. Steak was cooked exactly how we asked for. And it wasn't over priced. Can't wait to go back! Thank you again Boathouse for such an excellent dining experience !!
We love the Boathouse, we have been for lunch many times and decided to try dinner. We were very pleased with the menu and what's not to like about that great lake view. Our server, Casey was fantastic! Definitely going back for both lunch and dinner!
great for views and good portions of great food. menu limited, yet, super find. must walk through hotel suites to get to, surprisingly great. Ahi entree plenty as a meal, margaritas too sweet, didn't try the wine. quality food, pricey. great find.
