We didn't think we'd have room to have one of the banquets so decided to go a la carte with the tapas. It was a good move as we had plenty of great food and it worked out slightly cheaper. We had potatoes bravas, garlic prawns, squid and a small paella. Everything was lovely. We finished up with the special dessert that we shared Peruvian flan that was awesome. We also had a couple of glasses of wine and a soft drink all for around $155, so pretty good value. The staff was also friendly and attentive. Definitely worth a visit.
We visited this restaurant for a family member’s birthday. We ordered the banquet. Every dish was absolutely delicious!! The portions were generous and the drinks reasonably priced. There was so much food we couldn’t eat the last portion, we asked for takeaway containers and the waitress gladly obliged. The servers were super friendly and attentive. Everyone in our group enjoyed the food, we had a couple who were a bit nervous about Spanish cuisine but they needn’t have worried, they both loved it. Highly recommended !
We got lucky on a busy night to get a walk-in table at this great restaurant (bookings are recommended during xmas etc), We had their tasty Bocados Paella and Albondigas meat balls. Both were delightful and left us wanting to try more. The staff were quite busy but attentive (perhaps a little bit upsell minded). Good location too in central Newcastle East/city. Was a tad on the pricey side but we did end up having dessert/coffee. Would love to come back here.
This is a must visit in Newcastle. Really good food with a great atmosphere. Staff are on the ball and the place is busy. The restaurant manger is fantastic and the staff know their menu which is great. All the dishes we had were so damm good and to top it off at the end we had the Basque Cheesecake which is something else! You will not be disappointed with this venue! Réservez une table maintenant
Food absolutely fantastic. Chicken so tasty salad so fresh !! Mushrooms to die for !! Waitresses great knowledge of menu and combining the right dishes from the great selection. We did not go for the banquet style menu, had 3 plates (1 large) a yummy Cheesecake shared desert. This was more than enough. Food Service top notch, do yourself a favor !!
Bocados Spanish Kitchen is amazing. We have been to Bocados couple of times but recently we celebrated birthday there and we were not disappointed. We ordered Patatas bravos, Albondigas, Pollo Asado, Chorizo ala romesco, Ensalada de remolacha and Espadin. Everything was so delicious, and the service was great. Highly recommend.
We have had paella around the world and the vegi paella at Bocados is clearly in the top five, ever. Well prepared and seasoned, high quality vegis, and none of the uninspired vegi filler like squash. Other tapas (mushrooms, potatoes, mozz) all great as well. In a great setting. Highly recommended.
