"Es el negocio familiar de Martin Berasategi, donde empezó a aprender con su madre y su tía. Y hoy en día pertenece a su grupo, es la versión más económica y también más humilde. Consta de dos comedores y un pequeño privado, decorados en un simpático estilo de aire regional, donde ofrecen una carta-menú a precios fijos."

I was a bit concerned due to the mixed reviews. We decided to go with the tasting menu, if you go that route, expect your meal time to be around 2 1/2 hrs. I read some reviews complaining about the length of the service, if you want to spend just an hour having your meal, please go to a pinxos place, it is impossible to have a 6 course meal in less than 2 hrs. Food was good, some dishes better than others. Starters were ok. Nothing extraordinary. From those the spider crab took the lead. The sardines were a nice surprised, I personally do not like sardines, but these one were mild tasting and nicely paired with caramelized red peppers. My favorite dishes from the tasting menu were the egg in...

The food was VERY disappointing for a Michelin-recommended place. We got the lunch tasting menu. Two of the three appetizer items were bland and also under-salted (one was sardines! . The third was a crab puree that didn 't taste much like crab, with that dated darling of gastronomy, a foam, that contributed nothing. The slow-cooked egg with Emmentaler reduction: again surprisingly bland. The tuna: oversalted, overcooked. I told them to stop bringing anything. My sister (also unhappy but less forthright about it said the pork was mediocre. Two desserts, including a French toast, that were extremely sweet. Nothing was better than ordinary, most was actively disappointing, especially for the p...

Complete tasting menu, highlighting the low-temperature egg with enmental broth and Donostiarra-style Txangurro. When you sit down they offer gazpacho with toast (invitation). Pairing of three wines; White txacoli from Guetaria is very good, red txacoli is a little more normal, and finally, Reserva Luis Cañas 2016 out of ten. With the bill and coffee they offer you some very delicious pastries (invitation). Very correct treatment. The restaurant can be somewhat narrow because it is accessed by going down stairs from the street, although the decoration is nice. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
