Back in Leyburn after years. What on EARTH!!! We are staying in our regular holiday cottage and headed straight for the Bolton Arms!!! What a disappointment, no not a disappointment a total disgrace. No idea what’s happened here but the place is so run down and dismal. The outside is shabby and dirty but we ventured in as we’ve enjoyed our visits previously. No FIRE. Ok it was mid week maybe they light the fire on weekends!! We should have known there were issues when we were the only people in it is half term so expected a few other folk. A lovely looking pub which could have delivered much more. Food was mediocre, staff seemed bored (that could be due to the weather very wet) and beer was ok at best which is a shame for a local cask ale. The double cheese smash burger was the best dish we had. Hopefully it was just an off evening as our experience was not a match to the other reviews. We called in here with our dog for a couple of drinks on a rainy Saturday. As there was football on the TV we stayed for a couple of hours
