This place started out okay. The menu was like Condado, which is a restaurant we like in Columbus so we thought we 'd give it a try while we drove through town. We placed a takeout order for a variety of tacos and an order of chips. When we got there, we were pleasantly surprised to see lots of (empty) outside seating. We asked if we might be able to change our order from takeout to eat in so that we could eat outside, and the hostess asked the manager, who promptly said no. You can never go wrong at Bomba. Similar to their sister restaurant Paladar, you step into a warm and welcoming atmosphere where you can expect excellent Mexican and Latin cuisine, which goes beyond just Mexican dishes. I've visited multiple times and ordered for delivery as well, and I've never been disappointed. Their build-your-own guacamole is a fantastic appetizer, and their salsas are equally impressive. The tacos are diverse, inventive, and flavorful, as are the various bowls they offer. To wash it all down, Bomba serves excellent drinks that perfectly complement the food, with creative margarita options alongside a classic version that is also delicious. The food was fantastic, featuring a selection of healthier tacos, and the yucca fries are my personal favorite. Shalonda, the bar manager, greeted me warmly, went over the specials, and invited me back when I visited for the first time, making me feel truly valued. However, it’s Jermaine, the bartender, who truly elevates each visit to a 5-star experience! A skilled mixologist like him is hard to come by, and he crafted a custom top-shelf rum cocktail just off the top of his head!
My husband and I truly enjoyed our first experience at Bomba. We decided spur of the moment to go to Happy Hour. Our bartender, Jermaine, was phenomenal. He was personable, attentive and told us about some of the popular items on the menus. We had the Dragon Shrimp, Mexican Street Corn and BBQ Pork Quesadillas. I had a great lunch with my mom on a Saturday afternoon at a unique Latin-American restaurant. We ordered cheesy bread with honey, a spicy shrimp taco, a yard bird taco, a Baja shrimp taco, a plant-based taco, cauliflower wings, and a charred pineapple lemonade. Everything was delicious. Great food!
The tacos are a bit on the expensive side, but they are absolutely delicious. The restaurant is clean, and the staff is very friendly. I dined in for dinner, and the cost per person was around $30 to $50. Overall, I would rate the food a 5, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 4.
