This is my first time ever writing a review and I'm sad it's a poor review about Bonfire. I have always enjoyed my meals here in the past but the last two experiences within the same month has ruined it for me. My family and I came here twice in the month of May to celebrate. The first trip: service wasn't too bad. Appetizers were good, entrees weren't. Two burgers were ordered well-done, both came out medium. It hurts me to write a bad review for this place because I was such a supporter for so long, so instead of a bad review I would like to explain the Bonfire Grill that I fell in love with.The wings were top notch; huge, juicy and always super tasty. The drinks were made to perfection and the staff was on top of their game all the time. The place was Uber clean from the tables to the menus, the bathrooms to the glasses. First time in Connecticut and wanted to try a place that was happening. I drove by this restaurant a few days ago and saw many cars parked around it. Figured the food was good. Boy was I disappointed. The clam chowder was good, the fried oyster sliders were lacking a lot, the garlic parm wings were the same you would get from B-dubs. Worst of all, it took our waitress Julia 10 minutes to acknowledge that we were even seated in her area. She drug her feet to get our drink orders, to bring the food out, to get us refills and to finally get us the check. It has been a while since we have received substandard service from a server. Will not go there again or recommend this place to anyone.
My husband and I are truck drivers, and this was our second time visiting Connecticut for the weekend. We wanted to enjoy the beach and have a nice dinner for Father's Day, and this restaurant exceeded our expectations! From the moment we walked in, everything was fantastic. Our young waiter was excellent and attentive, and the appetizers, drinks, and food were all outstanding! My chicken was incredibly juicy, and my husband raved about the oysters, saying they were excellent and fresh from the ocean. We highly recommend this place to everyone and will definitely be back! Thank you for making our Father's Day so special!

As for our main dishes, the twin lobster rolls were quite lacking in lobster, which seems to be a trend lately in many places. The fries arrived cold, and my wife's pulled pork mac and cheese was rather bland, except for the additional sauce on top. While we have enjoyed our previous visits, tonight really put a damper on our anniversary dinner.
Went there a week ago for the first time and my wife is pregnant she got the lobster Mac and cheese and loved it. So we decided to go back again this weekend and the Mac and cheese was like a bowl of soup it was bland and wasn't even the same color as the first time. My pregnant wife was so disappointed for $34 I think they should do better.
Service and food were both a let down. Baby niece had a beer spilled on her, lobster rolls are better at the lobster hut, waited over forty min for food that was not worth the wait or price. Lemonade was warm, soda was flat and something in my water. Potatoes were not seasoned and lobster didn’t taste fresh.Food: 2/5
Came in as a 5 top without a reservation on the first warm Tuesday of the year. Drew; our server; was literally 9 tables deep when we were seated. Drew did fantastic and they had trivia; the food was excellent despite how busy it was. Definitely would recommend this place.

Takeout experience wasn't the best. Food was late to be made, even after My pre-tip. Like, What's the point? My order was casually called a door dash order to the kitchen, when I ordered straight from the website. I've had better experiences being served there.Food: 3/5
