Looking for something to eat rather early on a Sunday, Books and Beans offers the best opening times in Aberdeen. Given their big range of food, the vegan options are somewhat poor. There was no vegan breakfast, yet, I could take a sandwich instead (the Tripple Decker Something . Not exceptional, but a generous serving and therefore filling. (No beans though. Soups supposed to be vegan most of the time as well. Service was good, WiFi connections was good too. Nicely furnished additional seatings upstairs. Seems to be pretty popular in Aberdeen; I 've seen plenty of mercandise . Overall nice place, worthy of support. Would go again.

Has soya so can serve vegan hot drinks. Sitting downstairs (don't recommend a lot of awkward eye contact with passing by people outside) and upstairs, surrounded by books. Quite busy (a bit hipster feeling) but closes early. Not amazing vegan food options but mostly things can be tweaked a little, I had some yummy humus sandwich with dried tomatoes (and for some reason coleslaw as side salad after I asked for vegan options gave it to my friend). Nice place to grab some food and a drink!

I don't really understand why this place is rated so high here: The options are quite untouched sandwiches with few and not very exciting ingredients on cheap bread or some baked potatoes also with an uninspired selection of toppings. The place is central and if you need only one meal for 5-6 pounds quickly, it can be an option. The atmosphere is beautiful with all the books. Updated by previous rating on 2019-02-18

The cafe is also a book store, so it’s a must go if you love books. You can have a cup of coffee or have your lunch while choosing a book to buy back. A good place to hangout either with friends or by yourself. For vegan options, I wouldn’t say there’re many when I went and staff wasn’t very keen to help out. I had a soup and oatcakes, which was alright, nothing special for food.
