Racist and discriminatory behavior by owner...My family went here recently for my father 's birthday. My mom called twice a few days prior trying to make a reservation for 20 people and asked if she could bring a cake. Both times the receptionist (who is family with the owner) said they don 't take reservations but could do a walk in and she could bring a cake. Where to start. When I went to Borio 's with my wife and mother-in-law last month we really wanted to sit outdoors but were told it would have been an hour wait so we decided inside instead, no big deal. Upon looking at the menu selection and picking out what we wanted we were siked and couldn 't wait to eat since we were hungry. It was somewhat busy and I understand with what is going on (Covid-19) that the staff were doing their best, I get it. After more then an hour wait to get our food, it finally arrived but to some disappointment. My mother in law ordered a plate that comes with jumbo shrimp. The shrimp she received was not jumbo sized fried shrimp. It was regular sized fried shrimp....
The outdoor seating and the views of the lake are really nice. I came here to enjoy a night out with my parents. I've heard a lot about this place and wanted to see what the hype was about. We ordered a few drinks while waiting the hour for our table. The margaritas were made well. The inside decor is dated to me but that's not a deal breaker for me when dining out. I ordered their baked haddock dish and I was disappointed. I was hoping for more flavor but didn't get it. The dinner rolls were also very hard and the food overall was ok. I would only return here to have a drink outside, watching the boats on the lake.
This place is getting one star only because their food tastes good, I would give 0 if I could. The owners are disorganized and insanely rude. I witnessed Marty literally screaming at his employees on multiple occasions. The employee turnover rate at this place is so high because of how bad they treat their employees, and it does carry over in the way they treat their customers sometimes. Also, the place really isn't that clean. The silverware is ALWAYS dirty and the place itself also isn't that clean. It takes way too long to get your food and some of the servers are rude too. Again I am a four-star man. Not sure if everyone knows the Restaurant has been sold. But I am sure the new owner will continue the high quality of food and service. Always said to see along time owner retire, but thank you for years of service. Thank you, for the amount of catering, Weddings and family parties. And yes I happen to know the owners for many years. The operation has been a class act for years. Hope the next chapter in your life is everything you hope for. Again thank you and our lunch is always great. Take care and enjoy your next chapter .
Awesome place. We stopped for lunch and has clams casino, shaved steak sandwich and ahi tuna salad and a cold beer. Food was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The sandwich came with one side, and I tried the black beans and rice it was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Service was very good and place was clean. Sitting outside with a great view of the lake was really nice too. The menu changes at 4pm to dinner and we can't wait to go back for dinner. Good job for sure. Reasonable prices too. Top notch 5 stars with ease.
