I went with friends to the Tavern last weekend. We all gave the waitress credit cards and asked her to split our meal amongst them. Twenty minutes later, she came back with one fewer card than she had when she left. She’d given us a receipt indicating she’d charged the card… she just didn’t give the card back. Hmmm. We let her know, thinking that she must have just left it by the register. She looked for it for maybe five minutes and came back to tell us she couldn’t find it. She’d lost a credit card, and she wasn’t going to do a darn thing about it. We asked for the manager, who, after another ten minutes, came to our table. We explained the situation, expecting her to frantically ask each...
We ended up at this restaurant waiting to get into the urgent care next door for my daughter. We were traveling on vacation, so not very familiar with the area. The staff were going to let us use the table as long as they didn?t fill up. We ended up getting dinner and drinks, since we knew we had a long wait. The food was nice and very affordable. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere outside was lovely. They continued to bring my mom water without her requesting it,
Phenomenal service. Looked for a reason to go with four stars the drink selection isn?t massive, the food is good but perhaps not outstanding, not a lot of group seating when I realized I was being nit picky and every time I?ve gone I?ve had a great experience. Highly recommend especially if you?re meeting up with a friend or two and don?t want to make reservations or break the bank.
I am beginning to develop a strong dislike for the bar staff at this restaurant. They are always grumpy and distant, showing no effort in serving customers. They work at a very slow pace, as if we should be thankful for their mere presence. The guy wearing the backwards baseball cap, in particular, seems especially problematic.

Came here for a drink at the bar and thought it was okay. The drink was standard and the atmosphere was pretty low key which is what we were looking for. The service didn?t completely wow me, but I thought our overall experience was fairly good.
We stopped at this restaurant for an Irish coffee, which was delicious and strong - we absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was so enticing that we also ordered pickles and fries. We definitely plan on returning for more.
Seated quickly, very casual and friendly. Server got to us quick! Burgers were ok, chips were homemade and great! Fish and chips...ok, not good...just ok. Caesar salad was huge and delicious.
Great food and great atmosphere. I try to make it here as often as I can when I’m in D.C.

Good service, good food. Pancakes unfortunately a bit stale (dry) but fruits were nice.
