Brace Of Pheasants

we have all booked eight rooms for a family celebration. eight adult and nine children from 3 to 15 years. the rooms were nice, clean and very comfortable. the top in the pub are the old egg beams. the others in the converted turtle were presented very tastefully. the dinner was excellent with a great selection of delicious dishes. also the breakfast was excellent. the bar was very original with a beautiful log fire burning. my host was very hospitable and welcoming. nothing was too much annoyed. very friendly to dogs and young children

Wonderful to return for the first time after 48 years! A lovely welcome and a superb light lunch. BLTs in the freshest and tastiest bread ever with flavourful back bacon. The young barman asked us where we sat. Couldn’t remember! “Didn’t you take a photo...then?” Using a camera in those days was rare!

A hidden gem in the middle of nowhere surrounded by hills. We came by bike over the tracks and it felt like Shanghri La. Lovely rooms with deep Japanese bath. Amazing food and restaurant was full even on a Monday night a very good sign....Also very good value

we were very welcomed by our hostess. very friendly and helpful. our meals were excellent – one of the best we all had. the rooms were nicely furnished, nice, comfortable bed. nice quiet location. would recommend it. excellent breakfast. thank you. Réservez une table maintenant

We stayed for 2 nights while visitng family and enjoyed a great dinner and most restful nights in very comfortable annex room. Service was as good as anywhere we have been and we recommend it unreservably.

We ate here for a family lunch and all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was excellent and there good selection of cask ales and wines available. Service was very good throughout our visit.

Excellent rural country pub. Friendly South African host, wonderful food. Dog friendly. Great location with parking and garden. The creamy mushrooms and pate were great. Would recommend to anyone!

Very nice evening. Not quite five star from me (others in my party would disagree) because I felt the portions (I had game casserole) were a tiny bit small. Service was excellent. Réservez une table maintenant

Sitting outside on a lovely summer's day, we had an excellent lunch. The service was friendly and attentive, so very different from the crowded coastal pubs.
