Table layout totally unsuitable and it meant I had to sit with my back to two clients. Food totally unacceptable and inedible .Potatoes tasted and looked like the poorest frozen ones .They were burnt on the edges and didn't seem to have anything in the middle . Yorkshire pudding tough and rubbery .Pigs in blankets was one tiny cocktail sausage . One tiny stuffing ball still soft inside . Sprouts tasted like cheap frozen ones and there was a pile of orange slop in the middle . Meat covered in gravy despite having a jug of gravy in the middle(Not everyone likes gravy) To make things worse it wasn't that warm and something was very salty. We were very excited to have our first ever carvery, and while trying to figure out the system and process for it, Margaret seemed to have a very short temper with us seeming to expect us to be veterans of the carvery game. We had asked for diet cokes, but she upsold us and gave us refillable glasses, which we never got delivered by a waitress/waiter, my good friend, with a shaky hand, had to fill in for them and go to the bar to retrieve them. Even after we had located Margaret and enquired about the whereabouts of them, which she said they were on the way, but it was a lie. We had a reservation for dinner at a restaurant near the Premier Inn. We waited for 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Despite many staff members being busy, no one greeted us. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks and after ordering our meals, we were told that the dish I had chosen was no longer available. It seemed like the kitchen hadn't even started cooking the order. I asked for the quickest replacement meal, which was promised to be ready in 10 minutes. However, after waiting for more than 15 minutes with no food in sight, we decided to leave. The manager of the restaurant was pleasant, however, the staff are rude. While waiting for our breakfast, we were informed that the mushrooms would take 4 minutes to prepare and the rest of the food's time was uncertain. The staff's response was impolite, telling us we would simply have to wait. The manager then attempted to start an argument and began using inappropriate language. As we walked away, she yelled across the restaurant in a disrespectful manner. It was a completely unpleasant experience and it seems that the restaurant needs to work on training their staff in customer service or consider hiring new employees.

Have visited here many times in the past for both a Carvery and eating off the main menu. Good food and excellent value, relaxed atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff. Today we visited for the wonderful Carvery, a choice of three meats and a good range of veg etc. We were looked after by Kat, although would be confident of the same level of service from any of the members of Cheryl's team. The restaurant has a pleasant layout with multiple distinct seating areas. Vicki, our friendly server, took great care of us. The portions were generous and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The meal deal offered excellent value and the house wine was delightful.
Lovely food,nice portions and a great atmosphere. Served by an amazing server called vicki who was friendly and a great server . Would definitely come again.
