Brasserie artisanale Gambrinus

Atmosphere is pretty cozy, pub/lodge like feel, funky paintings for sale on the wall. I assume they vary, there were two that I quite liked on this visit. Food was a fairly standard pub assortment with some Quebecois twists I guess, as well as mussels. I had a burger that was tasty but not outstanding. Salads and chicken dishes were enjoyed if not raved about by the rest of my party. Beer was all quite serviceable, with the stout and IPA being the most flavourful. Found this place via TripAdvisor. The reviews were good so we decided to try it too. We were not disappointed. Great choice of beers. The hubby did "la palette de bieres" which is the equivalent of a beer flight. We had fun trying all 8 beers. I had the vegies panini and my hubby had the ribsteak sauce forestiere. Both meals were very good. This place is a bar that serves food so expect loud music and happy hour crowd. However, the food is a notch above bar food. There is parking, which is nice. Overall, our evening was a success and if we go back to Trois-Rivieres, we will stop by again.

Gambrinus would be my favorite restaurant in Trois Rivieres if they did not force families to sit outside. With that fact, it loses all pretense of European atmosphere. However, the poutine is great. The non-burger options are excellent -- both the salmon and the flank steak ("Bavette à l’échalote") are very good. Finally, all the beers are fresh and tasty.

If you want to just have a good beer with some honest food this is the place. A wide selection of beers with pastas, burgers, mussels, nachos etc. It is just across the University, so there is a young crowd hanging there. There is a small patio outside. Atmosphere is great. Cool local bar atmosphere with good house made beers. My husband had the cream ale and loved it. Food was very good and gave large servings. Seemed more like a local joint, great place to stop between Montreal and Quebec City for lunch if you are a craft beer lover.

Good beer, good service, pretty quickly served. The French fries were excellent. The burger was zzz OK, wish I had ordered something else, as long as it came with fries. Wide selection of beers on tap.

We decided to stop in for a beer and a bit to eat. Both were great. Then asked if they give tours and we talked with the brew for probable an hour. Great place and great people working there.
