This was my first visit to Brassica Restaurant and after all the recommendations that I had heard I did expect something special. The service was attentive and cannot be faulted. We had dietary restrictions in our party, a Coeliac and a Vegan. The menu choice was interesting but limited. The reality when the food was brought was a disappointment, whilst it was nicely presented it did little to justify the high prices that are charged for the main dishes. Describing a dish as 'Organic Pork Shoulder ' is misleading... This would be better described as 'Thin slices of Organic Shoulder served cold with with tonnato and cornichions. ' Whilst the Steak Eaters were well served with a very nice Organic Angus Steak and The Vegan was served with a Violet Aubergine Caponata, though good, the general feeling was 'Underwhelmed '. The Vegetable sides at £10 per shot were quite literally a small side plate with a pauper 's portion, not sufficient to 'share ' at the table. If you have deep pockets and are prepared to accept pretty standard but adequate fare then this may be the place for you. Perhaps a rethink on side vegetables and menu is in order.
