We decided to take a friend and his wife to the Hickory Restaurant for his birthday lunch. As we had been before, we knew that we would get a good meal. We had previously phoned and booked a table, as we were advised to do so. As soon as we entered and gave our name, we were shown to our table overlooking the golf course and the mountains beyond. Friend bout us here for lunch. To be fair I wasn’t sure about it as the website only seems to show half the menu! Was pleasantly surprised when I saw the full menu not huge bit this not a bad thing as smaller choice of food cooked well is preferable to a lot of choice most of which is precooked or frozen! Curry, served with chips and rice was excellent, fresh vegetables, tasty sauce, well cooked rice and OK chips. Baked potatoes came with plenty of filling and a nice salad on the side. Had never thought about eating at a golf course as they were perceived as members only. More and more clubhouses seem to be welcoming non members for meals you don’t even have to play golf. Great quality, tasty, home-made bar food at very reasonable prices. The service was friendly and efficient and the views over the golf course and Angus hills were beautiful. This restaurant is only 1 minute from the A90 (exit North of Brechin) so ideal for a journey break. It is also on a country lane through the golf course so you can stretch your legs if your on a long journey. Although it is in the Golf Club House, it is open to the public with no extra charges.
We decided to try out the lunch deal of two courses for £9.95 and we were not disappointed! The restaurant had great Covid safety measures in place, friendly staff, and delicious food. My wife enjoyed the broccoli soup and breast of chicken in a peppercorn sauce, while I had the prawn cocktail and chicken curry. The selection of dishes was impressive and the food was served piping hot. We will definitely be returning. Thank you.

My wife loves the generous ham salads, lentil soup is really good, so is the steak pie and the menu has light bites and plenty more. Good choice at the bar, too. Prices are competitive, very reasonable for the food quality. We played golf first it's not an easy course, but not really too long. Also offers gym facilities to members and has a golf simulator bay and 9 hole footgolf as well.
Had a wonderful lunch at this restaurant today. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The ambiance was comfortable and the staff followed Covid-19 precautions meticulously, making me feel very safe. The service was professional and friendly. Definitely worth a visit.
We had a fantastic experience at this venue for our annual golf outing with the guys. Stephen at the pro shop went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The staff at the clubhouse were extremely friendly and attentive. The food was excellent! Thank you, Keith.
Played Brechin today in a Texas scramble ! An excellent little track with some nice views of the local countryside. Will definitely be back for another round soon

Lovely surroundings and great staff, food excellent, very clean, excellent parking disabled friendly, cannot recommend highly enough, great for families.
The fish and chips were as good as I have had. The batter is first class. Lovely evening, lovely meal and lovely views.
