I've been here a few times and were it not for the reasonably priced softplay we would come here. Hubby thinks the buffet carvery is great so thumbs up from him for that. Otherwise the menu options are extremely limited if you don't want chips with your meal. Mostly burgers and the generic curry meal or salad. Lots of drink options, I enjoyed my tiramisu iced coffee, once it cake out made as it should be, which when I asked if it came with cream, the boy just shrugged and said he would ask: surely staff should know what they are serving? We love going there, but I would like to ask the management to kindly help the staff in the play area. In my opinion, they should not be required to fetch drinks from the bar or bring food from the kitchen. This is a work overload and it brings the ability of the play area staff down. I waited 45 mins for a glass of Coke, and it was only brought to me when I asked. The play area staff should be in the play area at all times for safety reasons.
Fun play zone for the kids Service and food is as you'd expect for a budget friendly chain restaurant Cheap and cheerful for families needing sustenance and somewhere for the kids to burn some energy. Only comment re the play zone charging is it is done on height, not age. Some kids can just go in and play (under supervision from guardian table), younger kids requiring a hovering parent pay same price despite a decrease in overall usage. I
I ordered fish and chips, but was disappointed to find that the batter on the fish was undercooked, soggy, and raw. The chips were thin fries instead of thick cut, and the peas were burnt. For dessert, we ordered the black forest brownie, which was supposed to come with ice cream, but due to delayed service on a quiet afternoon, the ice cream had melted into liquid by the time it arrived. We had to send it back.

The welcome and level of attention from the staff here was excellent. The team were so nice, even on a busy half term. The all you can eat breakfast is still great value at £10.99 per adult and the hot plates were constantly being topped up with newly cooked food.
We went to this restaurant for an 18th birthday party with a group of 32 people. The food was great, but the service was a bit slow. We also visited on a bank holiday Monday and the food was delicious once again, but the service was still slow.
I can only comment on the breakfast as I did not stay at the hotel. The staff were excellent in every way, with friendly and efficient service. Thank you to all the ladies for a great experience.
I recommend pub softplay. 4 stars as food is typical pub type ; nothing too healthy for kids or adults. Softplay is really good although I would recommend for at least 3y

Took a long time for food, came out tepid. Child's meal came out such a long time later after everyone else! Incorrect amount of corn on the cob. Management **** rude
