Brickfields is a popular bakery in Chippendale which is known for its bread and pastries. The simple cafe features a high ceiling and glass counter where the baked pastries and cakes are paraded. I would have rated Brickfields a credible 3.0 or 3.5 if I had not bothered to try their breakfast bowl for the day. Their pastries and cakes, the Malaysian Kaya cake and croissants, were flavoursome and delectable but the breakfast bowl was simply terrible and resembled a tasteless, hospital meal. The corn, peas and sesame etc were dry and seemingly unrelated and it was not a surprise that most of the diners could not finish them. Perhaps they should just keep to selling cakes and pastries and not...

Friendly service, amazing coffee. Enjoyed the Bacon sandwich and Ham/Cheese croissant. Fruit tart is a must! Place is small so had to wait a little for a seat - but definitely worth the wait!
