I wouldn't describe Gems as great, but I wouldn't label it as bad either. I've ordered food from there multiple times. The bagels are decent, though I personally prefer them to be a bit crunchier on the outside. The cream cheeses are quite good, and while the breakfast sandwiches are enjoyable, they don't stand out as exceptional. The prices for the sandwiches feel a bit steep considering what you receive. Today, we tried the crumb cake, but it turned out to be undercooked. However, the Meat-Atarian sandwich is actually quite tasty, and I'd order that again. I would recommend skipping the coffee. I ran 22 miles from Princeton to Parlin, and after a rough moment in a Knights of Columbus parking lot, I made it to the bay. To top off the day, I enjoyed what might be the best toasted everything bagel with cream cheese while sitting in a Prius. The staff also kindly filled up my water bottle for me, which was really thoughtful. I would definitely recommend this place—10/10!
Bagel shops are all over but Gems Broadway Bagels in South Amboy NJ serve a quality product at a reasonable cost fast efficient and friendly counter people get your order and get you out fast their coffee is excellent as well
New to town our teenagers are OBSESSED with the French Toast Bagel chocolate chip cookies, which will now be called “The Family Cookie” because it tastes like it was made in a loving kitchen ??

Bagels still warm whenever I go in. I favor the Jalapeno n Cheddar bagel. they also have Fresh Chocolate Chip cookies that are soft and delicious!Stop by and give them a try!
Delicious. Great coffee fresh and great bagels! I've gotten subs there and breakfast sandwiches but bagel toasted with cream cheese just hits the spot!!!
