This restaurant has excellent food, a cozy atmosphere, reasonable prices, and top-notch service, making it the ideal spot for families. During our visit, we enjoyed the antipasto salad, a large pizza with half covered in pepperoni, penne pasta with a delicious Italian sauce, and a decadent tarfuto dessert. This meal was one of the best I've had since moving to New Jersey from Brooklyn three years ago. The ambiance was relaxing and inviting, and the staff was attentive. We've found our new go-to spot for family dinners.
One major disappointment is the takeout service. The staff seem indifferent and careless, leading to mistakes in orders and overcharging customers. It is clear that the employees and management do not have a positive working relationship, which reflects in their lack of attention to detail and customer service. Overall, while Brooklyn Brookoven Pizza in Edgewater may have its moments, it consistently falls short of the exceptional experience offered at their Hackensack location.
At 8:30pm, the staff loudly announced that the restaurant was closed from one end of the dining room, making me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. The online business hours indicated that the restaurant was open until 9pm. Despite having eaten at the restaurant many times before, I am now uncertain if I would return after this negative experience. Recently, the customer service has not been up to par.
The pizza at this restaurant is fantastic! It's unfortunate to hear that this location will be closing. The service, atmosphere, and overall experience were all top-notch.
