You can feel the wonderful smell when enter this place, so rare over here in Germany, the wheat bread is probably the best bread I have eaten in my 9 years in Germany, the pastel de nata with its crunchy pastry is top quality and...can beat the best ones made in Portugal, I am Portuguese so I know what I am talking about. The German owners and the people operating the Botklappe really care to learn how to make things properly and improve their results, as I know they invite professionals from across the Mediterranean to teach them to produce such wonderful treats, this is a proper bakery with factory inside, so you won 't be fooled by visiting the place, you can rest assure you will get top...
Sehr gutes, kleines Café und Brotmanufaktur. Es gibt eine Auswahl an selbstgebackenen Brot und Kuchen - alles sehr, sehr lecker!Es gibt wunderbare Sandwichs, herrliches Brioche, bestes Bananenbrot.Die Brotklappe hat Donnerstag bis Montag ab 9 Uhr geöffnet. Montags gibt es ab 18 Uhr Pizza! Man kann auch lecker frühstücken.Wer gutes Brot liebt, muss hier vorbeikommen! The homemade bread pastries and other goodies are all amazing. It is rare to find this traditional homemade bread these days in Germany. I had a bread with beetroot and a cinnamon roll. Perfect also for working, meeting with friends and having a lazy breakfast....The couple who runs it is incredibly sweet and they seem to know all about Weimar s art scene.

We have visited recently Weimar and found this little backery just opposite to the Goethe’s house. The one on Trierer Straße is a second location. Great bread, delicious sandwiches and very good coffee, which is still not that obvious in Germany very friendly staff...we can recommend it to everyone visiting Weimar.
I love this place as they have real German bread, prepared right there. It is the best bread I have ever tasted!There are also wonderful pastries and tasty cakes. And the decoration is really lovely. Only the coffee could have been a little bit better but you go here for the bread not the coffee.
