This coffee shop is now under a new name and looked like it could be good. The location is great with a fantastic deck looking over the water. The food was okay but super slow for the quality. We could have overlooked this if it wasn't for the fact that while waiting for our food I was suddenly doused with what I hoped was water from the deck above. Starting to say the very least. The name of the cafe has changed to CarvalhoA large group of us sat out in the balcony on Sunday. A member of staff came and told us in a loud and aggressive tone, that we needed to make sure the path was clear for other customers. There were 2 doors on either side of us, so no path was blocked. I went to speak to the member of staff and said can you please clarify what you meant. She became defensive and said that we were blocking the fire exit in "her restaurant". My wife tried the gourmet Reuben sandwich last week and the BLT today, both made with artisanal bread and double smoked, hand cut bacon. I opted for the frittata, which was beautifully presented and deliciously savory. We finished off our meals with the hand made apple fritters, served hot and coated in cinnamon sugar.
It's a shame to see some reviewers on TA who don't appreciate the artisinal and gourmet offerings at Cavahlo Coffee Roasters. If they're looking for a quick take-out meal, perhaps a chain restaurant would be more their style. This is a good, quick, restaurant. It has great food, especially the sandwiches. You order your meal at the counter, and it is delivered to your table. Coffee is excellent, as are the apple fritters. In cooler weather, you can eat inside a restored historic Paris building, and get a great view of the Grand River. In nice weather, there are tables outside - on two levels - with a great river view.

This coffee shop is not what it used to be. The place has changed ownership and not like the old coffee shop. The coffee mugs were dusty and my husband's mug had a chip in. The apple fritters were half the size and seemed like they had been warmed up. We were very disappointed as this used to be a great place to eat and have coffee overlooking the river.
The Brown Dog is the place we stop for a drink, possibly a snack and an opportunity to sit on the balcony overlooking the Grand River. The snacks are tasty, the range of drinks is limited the cost is on the high side. Staff are okay but not the warmest or customer oriented. The view ... spectacular!!! Other than that, there isn't much to say.
I was meeting a friend for a warm drink on a rainy night, and the staff at Brown Dog Cafe took care of us! Dylan and Cody were fantastic at delivering great customer service not to mention a delicious London Fog Tea Latte with a side Apple fritter! We'll definitely be back!
Went to the brown dog for lunch on Friday afternoon. Was greeted by a tall lady with dark hair, She was lovely! explained all the lunch details and helped me pick my meal. it was delicious. Great service and great food. Very nice atmosphere. Will be back soon for sure!!

I have never ever met such a rude owner , will never ever go back ! We went as a family after rafting trip , we were hot and tired , ordered coffee and tea , the staff were so rude especially the owner
FYI, just by yesterday and it has a new name. so if your revisiting just for the Brown Dog your in for a surprise! Maybe there is just too much completion since the Quincy Mills opened.
