Looking for a place to have Easter brunch i scoped out several places in Marina Del Rey. I wanted a place that had a slightly upscale food selection but also one that had some down home confort food selections. I mean i love organic stuff too but sometimes i just want some eggs and breakfast potatoes. When i read the menu at Bru 's Waffle i was hooked! It was full when i arrived but there was no line, thankfully! Nevertheless, i did end up waiting almost 5 minutes for someone to notice me standing there at the entrance ask me how many in my party. After being sat it was another 5 minutes before I was given water and another 5 minutes or so before the server finally introduced himself. So, service was a little underwhelming; like i said, it was busy but it wasn 't overflowing. I wanted to try several things on the menu because it was such an eclectic mix of what i would consider upscale breakfast/lunch choices mixed with some familiar comforting plates. So I decided to try two things. The baked avocado egg cup is two avocado halves with eggs over easy and cheese served over each side each half of the avocado got their own egg and cheese and bacon pieces sprinkled on top..it was absolutely delicious! It 's placed under the appetizers or beginners section of the menu but trust me...its a whole meal in itself! Creamy avocado, perfectly cooked eggs, and the right amount of cheese all combined to serve an absolute bomb of buttery breakfast goodness. The bacon provided the saltiness and texture to cut through all the creamy goodness. Try it! Then i ordered the Big Breakfast...and yea, it was! Eggs, potatoes w/ bell peppers, two turkey sausage patties, and a couple of strips of thick cut bacon. The potates were seasoned and delicious. My scrambled eggs cooked perfectly, bacon was deliciously thick, crunchy and baconey, and the turkey patty sausage was flavorful. Oh, i forgot to mention that it also comes with your choice of a waffle or french toast! I chose the waffle. When a restaurant knows HOW to serve an item, you know they know food. My first hint was that the syrup ramiken was HOT, and everyone knows the ONLY way to serve maple syrup with pancakes or waffles or anything...is to serve it hot! I threw a little butter on it, poured that hot maple syrup on there and was not prepared for how amazingly delicious this obviously-freshly-made waffle was! With slight hints of vanilla and cinnamon, It was a perfect mixture of dense and airy. It was absolutely tastey. I will definitely be coming back and bringing everyone i know with me! Thank you Ebru for creating such a fresh, diverse, and wonderfully tasting menu!

I only had the opportunity to get takeout from this location but I am definitely looking forward to the day I get to try them out in person! My first order was the crispy pistachio french toast and the lavender honey latte. It was an incredible treat, definitely very filling, and a combination that I have never seen before. However, I am a pistachio girl so I was sold immediately. I also had some left over. It was perfect for brunch and kept me full the entire day. I love that it was stuffed with melted cheese and had a side of coconut syrup. Also, not a big coffee person but I was intrigued by the honey lavender latte and it did not disappoint. My second order was Bru's toast and another honey lavender latte. I think you cannot go wrong with the french toast options at this place! I loved the combination of cinnamon sourdough with peanut butter and an assortment of fruit. I thought it would be a lot going on but it seemed like a popular order and looked pretty cool in the pictures so I went for it and I am glad I did. It is a burst of flavors and a good time. I ended up finishing it all in one sitting! Definitely lighter than the pistachio stuffed toast but it also kept me going throughout the day. I cannot wait to try more and check this restaurant out again!

I found this spot by chance while looking for a place to have lunch while waiting for my car repair down the street on Washington (see my review for Automed Euro). It was such a pleasant find. I ate on the back patio which had clever nostalgic decor. The food was really good comfort food. I opted for the Meat Lovers omelette, which was delicious. The server was very attentive, but they weren't very busy, so I may have gotten extra attention. All in all if you're looking for a yummy brunch spot, I would highly recommend. To add to my prior review, I went back to Bru's with some friends that were in town and we had another pleasant dining experience (inside this time, as it was a little chilly by LA standards). This time I had the Eggs Benedict which they offer with a twist various protein options (Lox, Crispy Fried Chicken or the classic Canadian bacon) and choice of bread (Waffle, Croissant or the classic English Muffin). I chose the EB with Lox on a Croissant. It was delicious! Photo attached!

Traditional cafe vibes with unique, well executed eats. The omelet was light and fluffy despite being prepared with egg whites a definite plus! The house basil was thick and herbaceous presenting a perfect compliment. On the other hand the red velvet waffle was perfect for a sweet start to the morning. The waffle could’ve been a bit crispier however the red velvet flavor was spot on. That homemade cream cheese frosting made it feel acceptable to enjoy cake for breakfast. The service was swift and attentive. Again, vibes aren’t unique but the food is. The menu unsurprisingly is packed with waffle variations, but they do much more than that. Highly recommended for a breakfast that offers diverse, delicious selections to start the day!
