Das Restaurant liegt mitten in der Altstadt. Am Abend ist die Terrasse wunderschön im Schatten mit traumhafter Aussicht auf Laufenburg. Leider wirkte das Personal sehr gestresst. Auch erhielten wir einen Vortrag weil wir angeblich nicht korrekt reserviert hätten. Die Suppe war sehr gut. Der Salat auch, aber das Schnitzel war sehr ölig und fettig. Ich vermute in der frittöse gegart. Fleisch mit Fitness war das Fleisch topp aber der Salat sehr rohkostig. Blumenkohl, keven sehr ungekocht. Auch im Verlauf des Abends würden wir immer wieder belehrt. Die Serviette gehört nicht auf den Teller, der Hund sei nass und man würde ausrutschen usw. Schade für die tolle Lage aber das braucht man eigentlich nicht nach einem Arbeitstag , wenn man einfach nur gemütlich zusammen essen möchte.
the foods are made fresh to order (and sometimes they can be flexible---I don't eat a pig and they made me friendly to a chicken carving, although it is not on the menu). menu is classic regional food (carving, late, pfeffersteak) and good. prices are easy...price, but not too bad, as the location. there is a beautiful view of the Rhine. service is friendly. chairs are not particularly comfortable - as typical in a German guest house.
we visited this hotel restaurant on successive nights while we were in the hotel. at both locations we decided to have the traditional meal times and we were very satisfied with what we got. beautiful meals served with excellent local wines. there is an English menu that helped us. the personal is very professional. the prices are reasonable. the atmosphere of the restaurant felt like home. very friendly and warm. excellent.
I myself and two friends stopped in this restaurant, while on a bike holiday after the Rhine route velo 15. we sat outside and had an excellent view of the Rhine and the valley. Eating was delicious, although there was only one choice for the main course. but not expensive and it included a large bowl salate.
