Our friends took us to little village of Barri Pla de Corrals over the mountains from Simat as they had dined here previously and had been impressed by the Menu del Dia. We arrived just after midday with only one other table occupied but within half an hour it was almost full. The wall posters of various British German beers suggested a local ex pat community but there was no written menu other than the handwritten notes on the waiters order pad so speaking Spanish and a bit of knowledge of Valenciana a distinct advantage. Thankfully our friends possessed the language skills to explain the verbally announced contents of the 3 course lunch menu. Plate 1 a choice of courgette soup, oven baked...
Had a family party and Rosa was a perfect host. We booked the whole restaurant for a private function. The food was superb and the staff worked really hard to make the evening go to plan. Very reasonably priced and Rosa went that extra mile and had cakes made with our pictures on it for all those that where celebrating special birthdays and anniversarys. A very memorable night
I believe Buxcarro is actually located in Pla De Corrals, not Simat. It is our local bar/restaurant and offers great value menu del dia plus boccias and whatever is available just ask! Jose and Rosa are your hosts, Jose has a wicked dry sense of humour so must have some Scouser in him!
It's the first time I'm going. First thing in the morning a cut and a little before noon a very well prepared snack. very attentive service.
