"My family has been there twice since we moved in Hamilton this May. I admit my family has been lived in Korea for all our lives and this kind of Korean food is not quite authentic Korean dishes. Nonetheless their food is quite good enough except the Jajangmyun-famous Korean Chinese noodle. Yes, like other opinions here, I agree with their kindness!"

Bul & Gogi offers Korean fare --- and yes, bulgogi of various types is one of the specialties. They also have bibimbap, stews, soups, etc. Spicing is toned down some in comparison to many Korean restaurants I have visited, but the kimchee still has enough bite to make me happy and the other appetizers are equally good. The first time I visited, I was a little skeptical --- the decor is strictly fast-food city. However, the food is fresh and plentiful and service is always excellent --- and who needs decor when you've got a feast in front of you? My favorite is the bulgogi platter, which includes beef, pork, chicken and short rib bulgogi. The heaping platter arrives with the appetizers and rice. The first time I tried it, I was sure I'd never get through all that meat. So was my daughter. But everything was so good we just dived in and kept going until it was gone. And the cost? Around $20 for this huge feast. Prices, by the way, are reasonable; the platter mentioned above is the most expensive thing on the menu. They have various rolls and wraps and lunch specials for much less. And I have yet to find anything I didn't like. The restaurant is licensed, though wine options are limited. The tea is good, though. And there's ice cream for dessert if you want it. Frankly, I've never had room. Bring your appetite, try this place once, and I bet you'll be back.Great value, great service, and great food. What more can you ask for?

A slow Saturday night (very unusual our server, Steve, said) meant we got very personal and personable service although from the smiling faces around, I would think that this is quite the norm. As other have said, don't be put off by the plain exterior of the building or the lack of interior decorating. Food rules here and the place is quite clean and sanitary. Our appetizers were flavourful and interesting. This seems to be very authentic food place but nothing that will worry picky Canadian eaters. My lettuce wraps with steamed pork were juicy while the tempura shrimp were crisp and succulent with a nice light batter. We had BBQ rolls (beef for me, veggie for Shawn), 4 only (you can have 8 and then you get a soup which we ended up with anyway (I LOVE miso soup and this was excellent). The rolls were a nice variation on Japanese sushi and once again, flavour, flavour, flavour. We shared a plate of short beef ribs with 3 kinds of sauces. Sooo good! Having had "normal" Japanese beers, we decided to try something different. Steve said the Soju, Korean distilled liquor was rather like vodka and at 20% alcohol packed a good punch but it went nicely with the food. All told, a very nice, interesting, place with friendly people, very good service, good prices and good food. A winning combination. Looking forward to returning.

I do not recommend this place at all. I ordered delivery today and it was absolutely disappointing. I rarely comment on bad meals but this one took me by surprise. The portions were barely enough to feed my three children under 6, it was cold and missing dishes to boot. When I called JUST EAT to inform them the manager of the restaurant offered a refund that barely covered the delivery fee, JUST EAT offered an extra 10.00 to make up for the restaurants lack of care. After a second attempt the manager refunded $10.00. Not only did it cost me $47.00 dollars, but my complaint took 45 minutes to handle so it ruined my family dinner time. Bulgogi truly could care less about my experience and attempting to make things right. I will be sure to let everyone I know about this. If it was handled better and they took an interest in caring I would not have even complained. The fact that they were so disinterested made me post a review. Avoid avoid avoid.

This is my new favorite restaurant. The food is unreal, soooooo good! But it is the staff who make this place great! I order the same thing every single time, and it is a specialty order so it isn't easy to remember how I like everything... But somehow they do and never miss a detail! They are always to polite, kind and service is always exceptional. I love this place!
